Haiku 86/365 Only Two Days Left

After looking at this blog on my phone I've decided to add the haiku here as text so it's easier to see:
Just two days left-
how I will miss twinkling lights
and ornament tales.

To me this is one of the nicest tress we've ever had. I have truly enjoyed sitting on the couch with my pup and reading and writing while enjoying this view.

Tomorrow I will try to remember to take a picture of it with my good camera.

85/365 Sweet Simplicity

This is an image from 2010 that popped up on my Facebook memories today.
I've searched for the original image but no luck so this is not a great quality image.
I will continue to search...

84/365 Unusual Colors

This was taken while snowshoeing around Moss Lake in the Adirondacks last winter. Hopefully snow and cold will return soon and I'll go up to check them out again.

83/365 On Warmer Days

We saw this tree along the lake in Canandaigua, NY today. It looks like a great climbing tree to me, although I've never climbed a tree!

82/365 Vibrant Hues are Scarce

Another picture from yesterday's hike. Today we are back to our usual gray skies.

81/365 Christmas Blues Won't Last

Our Christmas celebration was fun but things were a bit different this year and the house was picked up and quiet by 1. I started to feel a bit of a Christmas let down and knew the best remedy was to take our pup and get outside and enjoy this beautiful day! And of course it worked perfectly. Then we snuggled on the couch and I finished up my library book, Becoming by Michelle Obama. A book I highly recommend. :)

78/365 A Little Sampling

This was from a recent trip to AZ. We only got out for one short walk in the dessert, always a treat.
I know the text is hard to read so here it is:
A small sampling
does anyone count the spines
of a might giant?

77/365 Trying to Be Good

Our Springer Spaniel, Lizzi, is one and a half now. Some days I think she's beginning to grow up but then other days.... :) But she's a beauty and I love her.

Haiku 76/365 Friends Munch Munch Munch

Hornworm caterpillars came close to destroying all our tomato plants very quickly this summer. I ended up finding about 7 of them on the plants. They are very well disguised despite their size.

Haiku 75/365 Bursting With Color

I've been looking back at some pictures from the past year and selected this one from August.

73/365 Drip Drop One by One

I sat with my son and his sister in law as he received his 5th chemo treatment today.
One more to go and things are looking good.

And a happy Macro Monday!

Haiku 71/365 Stop Thief!

Haiku 70/365 So Full of Contrasts

Trying to get back into the swing of Haiku a Day is a bit like getting back into exercising every day-a struggle but I'm getting there on both parts. :)

Haiku 69/365 Early Morning Ride

This was my son and a group of friends doing a ride from Saranac Lake to Saranac Brewery two summers ago. Next summer I'm planning on doing this ride and possibly another ride through the same area but a longer distance. #RetirementGoals #StayingFitAndHealthy

Haiku 68/365 Turkeys in the Neighborhood

Sorry for the poor photo. It was taken with my phone and highly cropped. Now my goal is to capture them with my good camera. They are around that area quite a bit this time of year.

Haiku 67 Delicate Fragile

I've been out of town and got a little behind. I've decided instead of scrambling to get caught up I'll just continue on. However, here's an extra haiku with some of the rules for this week's Macro Monday selection:

Starts with a vowel
No more than three inches big
Egg Ornament it is.

Haiku 64/365 Showing Its Age

Yesterday we went for a short hike at Usery Park near Mesa, AZ.
I loved looking at the different textures in the dying Saguaro cactus.

Haiku 62/365 Art at the Airport

Don't care for the font on this one but will let it go this time. This is at the Albany Airport. I like how they frequently change their art displays.

Haiku 61/365 Cute Stuffed Animals

Last night was Teddy Bear Toss night at the college hockey game. It's becoming a tradition that we take our animals to Gerber's Tavern for a UC and take their pictures before the game. The game is a sell out and the animals are tossed on the ice after the first UC goal. All the animals go to local organizations to be distributed to children.
Today was a travel day for me so while on the plane I did yesterday's and today's haiku in Pic Collage for something a little different.

Haiku 59/365 Lover of Winter

Poor Lizzi! She just loves to run and bound through the snow but when it's wet she ends up a mess! My husband will be giving her a haircut soon to help lessen this problem. We help her break up the clumps too.

Haiku 58/365 Winter Wonderland

I jotted down this haiku on a ride to Albany. There was one stretch that was so beautiful with the heavy snow and it was bending branches. By the time we got to Albany there was no snow. This is an older picture but not really what I was seeing. Someday I may change up the picture when I get what I was envisioning.

Haiku 57/365 Nature's Winter Gifts

We had a few inches of heavy wet snow this morning. Shoveling it was a great workout and used different muscles than my normal workout! Once that chore was done it was time to play with the macro lens. I was hoping for photogenic snowflakes but they were melting too fast for me to capture any great ones. Maybe the next snowfall....

Haiku 56/365 Strong but Delicate

Today's haiku is also my Macro Monday submission for the week. The theme this week was dot and stripes.

Haiku 53/365 Opt Outside

Today the Ride for Missing Children Family planned an Opt Outside for Otto fundraiser. There was a wonderful turnout for the hike and at a local pub afterwards. Other Ride Family as well as other friends and family, who could not make it have shown their love and support in many ways. We have much to be thankful for and my heart is full.

Haiku 52/365 My Friends and I

Yep, we found 5 of these beauties on our tomatoes plants when we noticed something was destroying them! This was a first. It was very hard to find them because they were so well camouflaged.

Haiku 51/365 Empty Tracks Waiting

Today I went to the train station to take pictures of my friends two little kids. They were adorable which made it fun!

I am pleased that I have stuck with this for 50 days! Only 315 to go. :-)

Haiku 49/365 Frozen in Time

I realized yesterday I have not been sharing my Macro Monday pictures consistently, but here's the one I did for today. The theme was centered, square, b&w.
Happy Monday!

Haiku 47/365 Feeding Frenzy?

Another picture after yesterday's snowfall.
Clematis are one of my favorite things to photograph after they bloom.

Haiku 46/365 See What's in the Print?

Snow day! I went up to let my grand dogs out to run this afternoon and caught this print. 💕

Haiku 43/365 Seems Like Spring Thaw

Went for a hike at the Breia Trails again today and enjoyed the beauty and quiet of a fresh snowfall.

Haiku 42/365 Autumn's Bright Colors

This picture is an oldie but the yard had a similar look this morning. I had to help get leaves raked before more rain and snow begins tonight so no time for pictures today. But this makes me want to get out and take some frosty pictures again. We haven't had a hard frost yet.

Haiku 41/365 Cancer Will Lose

My son was recently diagnosed with non-hodgkin's lymphoma. We've been selling wristbands, t-shirts and stickers to help out with some of their unexpected expenses. He's half way done with chemo and doing well. It helps to have a loving wife, family, and support system of a hockey family and ride family as well as all his other friends and co-workers. His dad has been fighting this on and off for 22 years so he's had a good role model on how to fight and get through it.

Haiku 39/365 First Snow

We had our first snowfall today, after another day of rain. It was wet and slushy but I had to get out and enjoy what little bit we got late this afternoon. Nothing great photo wise but still enjoyable and I'm willing to share.
